EXPO 2020 OFFICIAL STORES – RETAIL OPERATIONS

Operations Accountant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, driven and proven finance professional to join our team as Operations Accountant immediately.

Working on multiple Expo 2020 projects the position requires an understanding of local financial, regulatory and legislative standards. Due to Expo operating until March 2022 the position will be a great 8 to 10 month contract position. 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and senior managers, your primary focus will be:

Financial Accounting

  • Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain integrity of the accounting system general ledger and ensure accurate recording, project allocation and reconciliation of financial and banking transactions.
  • Develop and maintain systems, including appropriate documentation control to ensure external audit requirements can be met on demand.
  • Implement and manage internal controls for the requisition of goods and services, including the approval of new vendors, validation of vendor bank account and tax documentation, issuing LPO’s, approval and payment of vendor invoices.
  • Oversee and manage all month end closing procedures, general ledger and bank account reconciliation processes within agreed timelines.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate and up to date register of all assets and ensure procedures are maintained for the security, control and movement of assets.
  • Effectively manage debtors and creditors, including invoicing, recording of payments, following up with customers and vendors, maintaining files, reports and ledgers.

 Business Analysis

  • Proactively identify and bring to the attention of TVG management any issues or challenges that may have financial and / or compliance implications for TVG.
  • Proactively looks at ways to maximise the commercial outcomes and profitability of TVG’s operations.

Banking and Cash Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact with local banking and merchant acquiring partners.
  • Manage petty cash requirements including the issuing of cash, recording and reporting of expenses.
  • Establish bank accounts as required, monitor and reconcile corporate credit cards, manage signatories and banking controls in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure reconciliations are completed on a daily basis for all bank accounts.
  • Prepare bank reports as required for TVG and client purposes.
  • Establish and oversee cash collection, sales reconciliation and banking processes for all outlets.
  • Oversee the preparation and issue of daily point of sale floats and change requirements.

Regulatory and Compliance

  • Ensure TVG’s compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, Expo guidelines, client and other stakeholder requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with tax, licensing and regulatory authorities.
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance with, and annual renewal of, the company’s trade license.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial accounts and audit processes.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with FTA requirements.
  • Prepare and submit any reports or returns as required by Expo 2020, clients or regulatory authorities.
  • Manage the renewal of the company’s office, motor vehicle and equipment leases.
  • Manage the company’s insurance requirements, ensuring appropriate policies are in place for Liability, Worker’s, Medical and Property insurances.

Financial Reporting Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, driven and proven finance professional to join our team as Financial Reporting Manager immediately.

Working on multiple Expo 2020 projects the position requires an understanding of local financial, regulatory and legislative standards. Due to Expo operating until March 2022 the position will be a great 8 to 10 month contract position. 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and senior managers, your primary focus will be: 

Financial Reporting

  • Produce high quality, timely and accurate financial, dashboard and performance reports across the TVG business including clients reports in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Develop and implement effective and accurate KPI reporting appropriate to the needs of TVG’s business

Business Analysis

  • Oversee the development and implementation of dynamic financial forecasting, business analysis and budgeting techniques and processes
  • Proactively identify and bring to the attention of TVG management any issues or challenges that may have financial and / or compliance implications for TVG
  • Provide recommendations to TVG management based on robust financial and business analysis
  • Proactively looks at ways to maximise the commercial outcomes and profitability of TVG’s operations
  • Develop real time tools to guide procurement decisions and reorder and delivery window
  • Support decisions concerning stock control, rotation and pricing

Regulatory and Compliance

  • Ensure TVG’s compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, Expo guidelines, client and other stakeholder requirements
  • Prepare and submit any reports or returns as required by Expo 2020, clients or regulatory authorities

Finance Offer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, driven and proven finance professional to join our team as Finance Officer immediately.

Working on multiple Expo 2020 projects the position requires an understanding of local financial, regulatory and legislative standards. Due to Expo operating until March 2022 the position will be a great 8 to 10 month contract position. 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and senior managers, your primary focus will be: 

  • Effectively plan and execute financial accounts, administration tasks and office duties in a professional and time efficient manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality in the handling and recording of all customer and supplier data and communications.
  • Manage petty cash, expense and bank account reconciliations, leases (equipment and motor vehicle), banking, financial data, chart of accounts, assets, creditor and debtor journals including all aspects of vendor and customer invoicing and payments.
  • Assist in month end closing processes, VAT return preparation and submission, internal and external audits as required.
  • Ensure all financial processes and procedures are followed and all accounting transactions are accurately recorded and reported (for internal and external company purposes) within established timeframes.
  • Ensure all financial reporting is completed accurately according to specifications throughout the event.
  • Work co-operatively and with empathy towards team members.
  • Ensure that all communications with clients, pavilion staff, suppliers, customers, contractors and other stakeholders is conducted in an efficient, polite and professional manner.
